“We have found great benefit with the introduction of Pilates sessions at
Preston North End FC. Both the 1st team professionals and the
youth team have weekly sessions of Pilates in an attempt to address the
various weaknesses in player’s core control. It plays a key part of
our preventative rehabilitation strategies that we implement at the football
club.”

"Pilates has been an essential part of our conditioning programme since
pre-season training. Nisha has provided the team with first class teaching
skills and excellent knowledge in this area."

"Many thanks for your support on our recent trip to Mottram Hall. The
session was excellent and very well received by all the players and staff as
discussed we hope to continue with regular sessions back home and we are
currently looking for somebody of your high standard to help take this
forward."

Football is a rigorous sport that demands rapid
speed changes, pivoting, sideways and backwards displacement and jumping
motions that combine all these movements. Thus it is inevitable that
footballers are predisposed to injury. Football injuries that respond to
Pilate’s treatment are those affecting the lower limbs. Injuries to the
upper leg often result from direct blows which may lead to bruising in the
muscle area.

Injuries sustained around the knee, usually
because of twisting actions or blows to the knee tend to place stress on the
ligament. Wearing the correct studs in your football boots and using shin
pads are important to prevent severe injuries in the lower limbs.
