This CD was created for 2 reasons - first, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the UK’s first purpose built Grand Prix track at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, England; and secondly to raise funds for children's charities (to date over £7,500/$10,000 has been raised for Children in Need and UNICEF). All songs were written or first released in 1954 with the exception of Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh’s 1959 “The Best is Yet to Come”.  Steve’s velvet vocal talents and Mike Neary’s guitar are simply stunning on “Smile” and “Cry Me a River” whilst Steve's “He’s a Tramp” is wonderfully fresh and raw. Sh-Boom with backing vocals by Alison Clements will bring a warm smile to every listener and his closing number (The Best is Yet to Come) is a perfect tease for future albums. To capture the flavour of how the songs would have sounded in 1954 all tracks have been left raw and untouched by modern post-production techniques - again we are sure you will agree it works better than could have been expected!
